COLO SPRGS, CO (May 8, 2023) – After further consultation with USA Shooting partners and athletes the decision has been made to move part two of the Pistol 2023 Pan American Games selection match to July 29 – August 3 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center (OPTC) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Rifle selection match dates of July 6 – 11 will remain as scheduled. USA Shooting feels that by moving these dates off of some conflicting events it will best serve our industry and goals moving forward as an organization.

“Selection of the Team USA Pan American Shooting Team is a top priority for USA Shooting,” Craig Kozeniesky, CEO of USA Shooting. “The summer schedule leading up to the Pan Am Games is extremely busy and challenging, to include a World Championship, and our partners at the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) are hosting important national level matches as well. We feel it is important to allow our Team USA athletes participate in these competitions. I apologize for the date change but it enables the best option for the athletes.”

Air Pistol will take place July 29 – 31 and Smallbore Pistol will take place August 1 – 3 and a detailed schedule will be published shortly.

As a reminder, this match is invite only based on the results of the selection match one, which will be the National Championships in June. All invited athletes will receive a notice through email with their registration details directly following National Championships.
